This past weekend I went to the movies with my Mom & we saw The Help. It was 1st a book written in 2009 by Kathryn Stockett which was her 1st novel.
It takes place in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960′s & shows you the relationship between 3 women, a white journalist, Emma Stone as “Skeeter” & 2 black maids, Viola Davis as Aibileen & Octavia Spencer as Minny. They come together to write a controversial book telling you the point of view from the maids (known as the help) & the type of racism they experienced from the white families they worked for.
The characters are so well written it makes you either LOVE ‘em (Viola Davis as Aibileen Clark) or hate ‘em (Bryce Dallas Howard as Hilly Holbrook)! There is a mix of funny parts & sad parts. And by the very end it’s so sad I couldn’t stop crying 
As the credits rolled no one wanted to get up… it’s like we were expecting bloopers to come up to make us laugh again. Who wants to walk out of the theater with mascara running down their face 
Through, the end was very sad, it was good!
You should definitely go see it! It’s such a great story…. I LOVED it!!
