DuPont Registry Hanger Party

Went to the 7th Annual DuPont Registry Hanger Party at Boca Aviation. Can’t remember the last time we went out (other than dinner) on a Friday night. Lots of people, cars, jets, boats & helicopters! There were Ferraris, a Bugatti (red & black car), Bentleys, Mercedes, Rolls Royces… I’ll take the Bentley Mulsanne & Mark will take his Rolls Royce Phantom.

Celebrating My 31st

Last week, on the 4th was my birthday. We were in Fort Lauderdale that whole week cause our Caribbean travels started on the 8th by flying out of that airport. For my bday we walked from our hotel to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea & went to dinner at a restaurant right on the beach… the view was pretty & dinner was good. I got my favorite… lobster & we had some drinks. Nothing too crazy :) I was in bed by like 10:30pm & some people called me after 10:30 & left me messages like “I’m sure you’re out celebrating right now” hahaa

Bethenny Frankel’s $120 Million Deal

As news broke last month of Bethenny selling her SkinnyGirl brand to Fortune Brands’ Beam Global. And this season on her show we saw Bethenny getting frustrated with SkinnyGirl not being accessible to everyone at liquor stores.

Bethenny’s empire is worth $120 million! She has 3 New York Time’s best sellers (Naturally Thin, The Skinnygirl DishA Place of Yes), her own series on Bravo (the 1st season premiere was Bravo’s highest-rated series ever), endorsement deals (Pampers, Bluefly & Hanes), Body by Bethenny workout DVD, Skinnygirl shapewear line, a diet cleanse & weight-loss supplements, she is ranks among reality TV’s wealthiest self-made stars!

She got in with Bravo at the right time because back in 2008 joining Housewives was nothing like joining today. The contracts are getting more & more detailed with reality stars starting their own little empires. A network developer said, “It’s indeed becoming the trend. Our attorneys are constantly telling us that we need to cover our butts in case the talent blows up. If we are responsible for their success, we should get a piece.”

When the sale of the SkinnyGirl brand “One month you would get 3,000 cases ordered and you’re dealing with that revenue. Then the next month you all of sudden get 30,000 cases ordered,” Dow says. By summer 2010, the most popular season for margaritas, the mix was sold out.

And Beam Global still wants Bethenny involved with the SkinnyGirl brand saying, “No one knows the brand better than Bethenny, and we don’t want to break something we just bought,” he says. “Plus, she gives us access to consumer feedback with just one tweet that would take us three months of focus groups to compile.”

And what else can she add to her growing empire? Someday she’d love to have a talk show. According to a recent report, Bethenny is in talks with Telepictures Productions (The Ellen Show) about the deal.

Bethenny Sells SkinnyGirl Margarita Brand

Bethenny Frankel sold her SkinnyGirl Margarita brand to Fortune Brands yesterday. Bethenny Frankel will remain on hand for the organization to help with design, collaboration and marketing efforts. As we saw on last week’s show Bethenny was getting frustrated with SkinnyGirl not being accesable to everyone at liquor stores.

Bethenny said “As an entrepreneur focused on practical solutions for everyday, I know Beam Global and Skinnygirl share that same vision. I look forward to an exciting future working with the leading American spirits company.”

Sunday in Santa Monica

Yesterday I met Meredith in Santa Monica. She suggested we walked to Shutters for brunch & bloody mary’s. It’s so not your average Santa Monica place. It was really busy for their Sunday brunch but we found 2 seats at the bar & ate there. Love the atmosphere & the nautical decor…. blue striped frabic, wicker seats & white walls. Reminded me of this place that Mark & I go to in Montauk every summer.

We stopped by Casa Del Mar right next door cause my cousin, Lissa got married there! The place is beautiful!

We went to The Lobster cause Meredith said they had the best mojitos & they do! And we went shopping at Santa Monica Place.
